When I wrote my Master's Thesis at Utah State University (USU), I was so fed up with MS Word that I started looking for alternatives. I found LaTeX, not quite Campbell's soup good but good. I asked around and found that another grad student Allan McInnes has a style guide I could use. With some difficulty and with much help from Allan I figured it out. USU has probably changed styles since then but if not this may be useful to many grad students out there.
Be aware that I have not updated this since 2005, but it worked great then
